So We Only Ever Have Now
We get so focused on the goal — and getting “there” — that we risk missing the real achievement …
… which is experiencing every step of the journey for and of itself.
That sounds sweet until you consider that many of those journey steps are just plain awkward, ugly and uncomfortable.
Perhaps most cruelly, they show no promise of getting you closer to “there”.
But, still, it pays to honour the path, no matter what it shows up, because each of those awkward, ugly little steps are guiding and instructing us.
They are the best teachers in what to choose next, what to do, what not to do, what to improve, and what to jettison.
Those steps are also counseling us in who to love more, who to leave, and those things in us that deserve cultivating, curing or celebrating.
Savour the journey.
We only ever have “now”.
